The final Senior Coaching Accreditation Course for 2025 was successfully hosted this past Saturday at the Shin Gi Tai Judo Club. This essential professional development event provided an intensive, high-calibre session for coaches dedicated to advancing their expertise and impact within the sport.

The comprehensive curriculum focused on critical areas designed to enhance the effectiveness and professionalism of senior judo coaches:

• Advanced Strategies: Deep dives into diverse learning styles, sophisticated communication strategies, and constructive feedback processes equipped coaches with tools to optimise judoka development.

• Technical Skill Refinement: Participants engaged in detailed discussions on fault detection and correction, focusing on how to deploy these critical skills in a consistently positive and motivating manner to foster continuous improvement.

Fostering Inclusion and Respect

A strong central theme of the course was the crucial role of Inclusive Coaching (Adaptive Judo). This module served as a powerful reminder that "Judo is for all," emphasising the responsibility of coaches to ensure every individual has the opportunity to participate, build confidence, and practice safe judo skills. Coaches concentrated on:

Innovative and Engaging Coaching Demonstrations

A highlight of the session was the practical application segment, where coaches showcased inventive approaches to engagement:

• Judo Games and Drills for Children: Coaches demonstrated dynamic, fun, and highly engaging activities specifically designed to enhance children's focus, agility, reaction time, and coordination.

• Technical Mastery: The coaching demonstrations of Nage Waza (throwing techniques) and Katame Waza (grappling techniques) were delivered at an exceptionally high standard.
