Training Camp - Must be registered with an IJF affiliated federation. Players do not have to have entered the Gold Coast International Open competition to participate in the camp.

Session times are: 9.am to 11am and 12.30pm to 2pm

Minimum age - 12 years

 1.    All entries and payments must be made using the on-line entry module and credit / debit card via the Judo Queensland website by midnight of Sunday 29 September 2019 (the close). No entries will be accepted or refunds given after the close unless a division is not contested.

Accreditation at the venue

2.   Managers or competitors must collect an accreditation pass at the accreditation desk at the venue before the weigh-in and present it to the weigh-in officials. Please allow time at the venue for this.

3.   Two free accreditation passes will be given to club, or country, officials with entered competitors, if entered by ‘the close’.

Weigh-in

4.   Veterans must weigh-in 3pm to 3.30pm and Special Needs must weigh-in between 3.30pm and 3.45pm Friday 4 October 2019 for competition commencing at 5pm. 

5.   Weigh-in for all Saturday competitors is Friday 4 October 2019between 4.30pm and 6pm.

6.   Competitors in all divisions (except No Limits) may change weight categories before the close of their respective weigh-in.

7.   Competitors who do not weigh-in will forfeit their entries and fees.

Eligibility requirements

8.   All competitors must be a financial member of a JA Inc. member state or territory or a National Federation affiliated with the International Judo Federation and must present evidence of current membership and injury insurance (such as a registration card) at or before registration. Failure to provide evidence will be grounds for participation to be refused.

9.    International competitors must also present their passport and must provide evidence of affiliation with an IJF member country and an insurance policy covering against injury. Failure to provide evidence will be grounds for participation to be refused.

10.   Junior competitors must be JA white-yellow-black tip or equivalent, Cadet competitors must be JA orange-black tip or equivalent and senior competitors must be orange belt (yon kyu).

Sport rules

11.    Competitors and officials are accountable under the JA Code of Conduct for displaying respectful behaviour, etiquette and maintaining cleanliness and general hygiene. Footwear must be worn in the shiai-jo except on the judo mats.

12.     For Junior and Senior Boys and Girls divisions, the contest rules shall be the JA Sporting Code;- www.ausjudo.com.au /resources/policies/sporting code.

13.     For Cadet, Junior, Senior and Veteran divisions the IJF contest rules as published in January 2017 will apply.

14.     While competitor welfare is paramount the event policy is to try to provide as many contests as possible. Subject to entries, Event Management may apply absolute discretion to combine divisions, not run divisions, or use a pools system.

15.     Correct belt colours and blue and white judogi are mandatory.

16.     Judogi with IJF logos are not mandatory.

17.     Judogi or team apparel is mandatory at medal presentations.

Awards

18.     Medals for 1st, 2nd, 3rd places will be awarded.

19.     Trophies for best Australian and International clubs for Saturday and Sunday using: entry (1 point) bronze (2 pts) silver (3 pts) gold (4 pts).

20.     Competitive Spirit of Judo Awards may be awarded by the organising committee for outstanding play and judo spirit.
